Zakk and Maria are an acoustic duo from Brooklyn. They have been playing together for 2 years and are currently working on a new cd. With influences as wide as Led Zeppelin and the musical theater, they have their own style which has been compared to alternative acoustic rock and acoustic folk.

I sing. I shout. I play guitar. I write songs. I'm a native New Yorker. I established myself as singer, songwriter and guitarist for Brooklyn's indie rockers, The Nerve! over it's 10 year career. With The Nerve! I experienced lots of growth and learning, both musically and personally. The Nerve! released two independent albums, an EP, and three videos over the course of it's first 7 years. Then in 2003 we were playing the CMJ Music Festival in NY when Robert Rankin Walker, president of longstanding indie label Heyday Records saw our set. A year later he signed us. Our third and final album was released by Heyday, also home to Marty Willson-Piper, The Church, The Surfaris, Tommy Tutone and David J. That album was produced by renowned guitar hero/genius/madman, Bumblefoot. I played guitar in Mr. Foot's touring band for his fall 2005 tour of Europe. The Nerve! played it's final show on December 16th 2006 in Brooklyn, our home. .
