The Snow is an ever-changing drift of flaky wonder, headed up by Pierre de Gaillande and Hilary Downes. Downes and de Gaillande met at a party of international diplomats in lower Manhattan in 2002, dazzled each other by reciting Russian poetry, moved on to making crepes, and eventually to making melodies as "The Snow." In addition to playing and singing with Hilary, Pierre plays in the bands Melomane and C. Gibbs Review, as well as scoring films. Hilary writes screenplays, produces animation, practices yoga and trains in Poekoelan, an Indonesian martial art. Downes and de Gaillande are joined by clarinet and saxaphone virtuoso, Dave Spinley, who plays with New York City favorites, Morricone Youth and C.Gibbs Review. Spinley also composes and produces his own music. Chris Gustafson, on stand up bass, plays with various jazz ensembles from here to Wisconsin. Wild man Frank Molina can play any beat to which you can shake. He also graces the stage with C.Gibbs Review and Lucient.
