Red Heart the Ticker is the musical home of Robin MacArthur and Tyler Gibbons. Red Heart’s first album, “For the Wicked” was recorded in 2005 in a barn in Vermont. While recording they were living in a cabin (they built) with no running water and no plumbing. The album is about geography and the poetry of places. It was bred in isolation. It is about drinking, and blinking, and racing stripe winters. Their haunting sound, lush with harmonies, has been compared to The Innocence Mission, The Cowboy Junkies, Wilco and Emmylou Harris. They spend most of the year living in Philadelphia - the other part in their cabin in Vermont. |

A singer / songwriter from Sydney, Australia, Cassandra's brand of folk music is a rarilty in her hometown, which is more prone to cultivating indie rockers than folk singers. Her musical style has been heavily influenced by guitarists such as Mississippi John Hurt, Robert Johnson and Bob Dylan, and she is often compared to Eva Cassidy, Aimee Mann and Janis Ian. Cassandra has been recording an album, which she hopes to release early next year, and she is looking forward to taking a bit of time off to play a few shows in NY this November. |
