REBECCA HART

Rebecca Hart has been in live theatre since before she could talk, and has been making music in public for the last decade or so. After graduating from Brown University's theatre department, Hart spent some time in California fronting the 'folk-jazz-rock-fusion' band the Rebecca Hart Project. With the RHP, Hart released three independent EPs before relocating home to the East Coast. She now makes her home in NYC, where she has recently completed two years of acting training at the Maggie Flanigan Studio and has begun work on her first full-length CD. The forthcoming album is being produced by Benjy King (formerly of 'Scandal w/ Patty Smyth') and features David Santos (Billy Joel, Crosby Stills & Nash) on bass as well as Mr. King on keyboards. Her original one-woman rock-n-roll theatre piece, 'JAZZ DESERT: the life & death of an american band" was developed over three summers at the Culture Project/45 Bleecker Theatre. 'Jazz Desert' has also appeared in the TerraNOVA ONE Festival at Center Stage NY, the Town Hall Theatre in Galway, Ireland, and the Double Helix ONE Festival at Primary Stages NYC.
