PUPPET KARAOKE UNIVERSE SHOW
![]() |
Singing
hand puppets of every shape, size and description will descend upon the
unsuspecting patrons of Mo' Pitkins House Of Satisfaction on September
1st when the intense comedic crooning competition that is the award-winning
Puppet Karaoke Universe Show delivers its high-octane East Coast Battle
Royale event hosted by NYC funnyman Jonathan Randall and presented by
the multimedia shenaniganizers of Waiting For Cable. The PKU Show is a
devilish mix of twisted puppet characters with names like Mo' Tut (the
homeboy king) and Tony Trainwreck (the loveablke agoraphobic), partly
embarrassing late-night bar karaoke, and outlandish improv featuring a
new 'celebrity host' with each installment. The Battle Royale will feature
the return of Jonathan Randall to the hosting chair, one of the most innovative
young comics in the NYC scene and one who exudes enthusiasm, mind-bending
originality and puppet-friendly angst-ridden genius. Known to some as
the 'Tsunami Of Comedy', Randall has a special rapport with hand puppets
that goes back to his early days as an Jim Henson apprentice. Combined
with a companion video podcast series and growing Puppet Karaoke community,
the ongoing live show boasts a bizarre regular cast infused with regular
audience participation. As in standard karaoke, competitors choose songs
from a pop song tome and take the stage, puppet-on-hand, to duke it out
for prizes, esteemed titles and the chance to be featured in an upcoming
podcast episode. The formula has proven successful and popular for over
3 years in the Philadelphia area and is recently becoming a NYC attraction. |
