Music
In ME is a non-political world-wide project that uses music as an instrument
to bring joy & hope directly to the lives of children in the war torn
region of the Middle East.
Frans Wolfkamp had been cultural Director of the Amsterdam Conservancy.
In 2003, he was asked to create an orchestra composed of Palestinian Refugee
children & Israeli children. While participating in this program,
he witnessed something amazing- the healing power of music. By playing
side by side in an orchestra, the children who were supposed to be enemies
became friends. Children who had before experienced trauma & depression
began to feel more optimistic. As a result of playing together a feeling
of camaraderie ensued.
WHAT DOES MUSIC IN ME DO? - Music in ME provides exemplary instruction
in music or music therapy to children traumatized by the ongoing conflicts
in Israel, Gaza, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and Palestine.
IT IS SIMPLE – The more donations Music in ME receives the more
children will be served.
YOU CAN HELP – On November 10, 2006 at 9:00 P.M. Music in Me will
hold a benefit. Rock and Blue Grass bands will perform. Jayson Cross an
outrageously funny comedian will serve as MC.
