The
Moonlighters harken back to the days when bands didn't need a drummer
to rock. Combining the hippest sounds & feels of the 1920s with
modern songwriting sensibilities, they have created a completely unique
style of their own. They can swing hard & then dissolve into a tender
romantic ballad or dark, mournful dirge (sometimes all in the same song!).
Two harmonizing female vox, steel guitar, uke, guitar, & bass.

Baby review of our "Live in Baden-Baden" cd
There's no humanly way to sit still, to keep from tapping a toe or jiggling
in your seat when the Moonlighters do their thing. Mastering the early
swing jazz from the 1920s & 1930s, their delightful, almost giddy
sound is infectiously pleasing & lighthearted. With sweet, birdsong
female vocals leading the way, their fun, well-versed mix of country western
swing, dixieland, early jazz, gypsy jazz, & vaudeville-feeling cabaret
is hard to resist. If you're looking for a gem of a band to lighten up
& brighten up your world, here it is.
