Just breaking into the New York music scene, this singer-songwriter combines intelligent lyrics- often playful, & almost always brooding & bittersweet- with achingly beautiful vocal melodies & minimalisitic piano accompaniment. A native of California, Miya's sultry, rich voice is the perfect vehicle for her haunting, confessional songs. Since moving to New York late in 2005, she has played various NY venues including Café Mae Mae, Rockwood Music Hall, Alphabet Lounge, Lion's Den, Mo Pitkin's, & Fat Baby. In between her regular shows Miya is recording her first album & is about to start production on her first music video.
