Ruler of the planet Mongo, scourge of the universe, Evil Emperor Ming comes to Earth for two very special shows at Mo's. An artist in the truest sense, Ming utilizes Death Rays and Robots to inflict pain and suffering on his audience.Tonight, accompanied by his crack band of intergalactic terrorists, TheMerciless, Ming will sing! Sing songs of his love for Dale Arden, spew venom toward his nemesis Flash Gordon, and protest the state of American culture. Be sure to catch him these two Mondays in March before he boards his rocketship and leaves our Galaxy forever!

September 10th - 9pm Jolly Roger Greenawalt, 10pm Ming (Solo)
Jolly Roger Greenawalt. A 100-year old pirate living near the docks of Williamsburg making sea shanties, spirituals, and Hawaiian hulas for a variety of tremendously talented individuals. Recent collaborators include Jeffree Star, Paige Wood, The Pierces, Julian Velard, Rhett Miller, Albert Hammond Jr. Rodney Greenblat, Andrew Vladek, Aberfeldy, Ben Kweller, NBK, Konfederate Pie, The Dopes, Sean Altman, Willi Jones, Nils Lofgren, Larry Tee, and a bevy of fellow travelers. He performs solo tonight accompanying himself with Ukulele.

September 17th - 9pm Reni Lane, 10pm Ming and The Merciless
Reni Laine was raised in Corvallis, OR. She grew up playing piano classics like Debussy and began writing songs for piano at age 7. At 13, she won the MENC National Talent Search for electronic composition. Then, at 16, she began singing. Her classical roots weave tight melodies into songs of experience. The Virginia Gazette says her "rich voice and thoughtful lyrics create a unique, mature sound that commands audiences." At 18, she has already played large scale venues like Norfolk VA's, The Norva and NYC haunts like The Sidewalk Café, and The Living Room. She is at work today in NYC completing her debut album with rock producer David Pattillo. On stage she will soon be joined by Russell Simins, powerhouse drummer from The John Spencer Blues Explosion. She is also a co-conspirator in the funky East Village hybrid "The Rabbit" with Pattillo and singer-songwriter whiz David Poe. Currently she lives and plays music in New York City and in the fall of 2006 will be attending Columbia University.

September 24h - 9pm Derek Bronson, 10pm Ming and The Merciless
Singer songwriter Derek Lee Bronston's soulful brand of country infused Americana finds its way into your heart and soul via strong melodies, swinging groove and bluesy nuance.While his discography ranges from punk rock to jazz his debut as an urban troubadour seems to bring out the side of Derek Lee that is true to his nature. After migrating from the Midwest to New York City in the 90's Derek Lee toured, recorded and performed with people ranging from Jazz trumpeter Tom Harrell and pianist Cecil Taylor to rockers The Great Shakes and The Hush. The debut CD from Derek Lee, which includes both solo and full band tracks, features his talents both as a songwriter and a musician. He is joined by Austin based singer Melissa Greener, and a host of NYC luminaries that bring soul groove and beauty to his songs.
