'Generation Next!' –Billboard Magazine. The AS-IS Ensemble is the musical home of composer/keyboardist Michael Bellar. This improvisationally eclectic, alt-jazz group has been the house band at the world-famous Blue Note jazz club in NYC & performed at such venues as Avery Fischer Hall at Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center in DC & the JVC & Bell Atlantic Jazz Festivals in NYC. Michael was named Unsigned Artst of the Month in Keyboard magazine for March 2006. As a sideman, Michael has toured or recorded with Art Garfunkel, Howie Day, Wheatus, Teddy Geiger (music director), Jump Little Children, Billy Mann, Phillip Hamilton, & Italian pop star Giorgia. His national TV appearances include Late Night with David Letterman, Ellen Degeneres Show, TRL, Good Morning America, Regis & Kathy Lee, & CBS Morning Show (music director).
