LAURA THOMAS BAND
APRILLE GOODMAN

Funky & fierce, the Laura Thomas Band is a New York group with a sound like no one else in the industry. The LTB combines the power of rock & funk with probing lyrics & emotional songwriting. Textured by a fiery violin & a multi-layered guitar, the band is led by Laura’s powerhouse vocals. She sings with Ani Difranco's tell-it-like-it-is defiance, Alanis Morissette's sheer, clear power, the sultriness of Norah Jones. The result is an audio-shock of emotional truth.
Village Voice recently praised Laura for her 'thick-skinned song-poems in jazzoid rhythms.' The Washington Post said that, 'Her voice is capable of tracing melodies as sinuous as the Rock Creek Parkway, & she has a soft spot for writing tender, compassionate, or introspective ballads that help set her apart from the rant'n'roll crowd.'

Singer Aprille Goodman hails from a small town in Tennessee, just outside of Nashville. She began singing at the tender age of 3, and performed frequently around her home before settling in Nashville. After several tours through the Southern US (including an opening slot for Joan Osbourne in 2001 and a few stints with Alt-Country singer, Todd Snider), Aprille made her move to New York in 2003. Her delicate, yet pure, voice (reminiscent of Patty Griffin and Emmylou Harris) offers an indelible impression to anyone that hears her carefully crafted songs. Aprille Goodman (vocals, guitar) will be backed up by Chris Farrell (electric guitar, mandolin), Justin Hosek (bass), and Brian Quinn (drums).
