KiDROCKERS next show features Spin Doctors’ lead singer Chris Barron and indie charmers Bishop Allen. Sunday, May 6 1:30 pm at Mo Pitkins. 34 Avenue A (between 2nd and 3rd Streets – closest subway is F or V train 2nd Avenue), NY, NY. ************************************************************** KIDROCKERS brings some of the most engaging and vital artists in indie music and comedy to kids and their parents. Artists perform original (not specifically made for children) songs in a manner that is both authentic and kid-friendly. “We love to hear great new music -- and so do our kids.” says KIDROCKERS founder Beth Rockers. “We want to create an opportunity for kids and parents to discover artists and get to see them play live in a fun, safe and authentic environment.” Past bands include Locksley, Chris Barron, LEVY, The Undisputed Heavyweights, Looker and Reggie Watts. ************************************************************** CHRIS BARRON sings for the Grammy nominated Spin Doctors, has graced the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine, wrote two top five songs (“Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong” and “Two Princes”), played arenas throughout the world and appeared on Sesame Street. The just released “Pancho and the Kid” showcases Chris’s instantly recognizable voice and includes some of the best songs that Chris has written and recorded. He’s a sincere and humble rock star and a great dad too. ************************************************************** Justin and Christian met at Harvard and lived on BISHOP ALLEN Drive. Rolling Stone Magazine gave the band’s debut album “Charm School” four stars. (“the band's carefree attitude, along with their musicianship, make Charm School as addictive as it is playful.”) NPR calls their music "vibrant, vivid and refreshingly different." In 2006, the band put out twelve EPs – one per month. In July 2007, the band releases its debut record for the Dead Oceans label. ************************************************************** Comic-actor SETH HERZOG hosts each of the 75 minute shows. Seth’s long running weekly show “Sweet” is a staple of the downtown alternative comedy scene and he appears regularly on VH1 and Comedy Central. |
