Karyn Kuhl is the former singer/songwriter/guitarist for Sexpod. Known for their majestic live performances, Sexpod’s cd Goddess Blues (Slab/BMG) was produced by Fred Maher (Mathew Sweet) & mixed by John Agnello (Patti Smith). They later toured with Joan Jett & Iggy Pop. KK is now mesmerizing nyc audiences with a solo project. Her power & versatility as a songwriter & singer shine through whether she performs alone or with a band. KK’s ethereal & emotionally driven ep The Beautiful Glow was produced by Super Buddha (Debbie Harry). 'the former frontwoman/lead-guitar of hard-rocking Sexpod returns with the EP of dark, aching (but still rocking) tunes, made beautiful by her innate romanticism. If there’s ever a musician who sold her soul for rock & roll, it’s Kuhl, with her high, haunting voice & guitar work that can be both solidly crunchy & incredibly nuanced.' -K Warnock, Rockrgrl Mag. Cigarette Songs, KK’s first full-length cd is set for release in the fall '06. On Cigarette Songs, also produced by Super Buddha, KK returns to the heavier rock sound of her past without sacrificing the melodic & atmospheric elements explored in recent material. 'If Jimi Hendrix & Patti Smith had a lovechild, I have found her. A jaw-droppingly good guitarist & amazing songwriter, she is a rock god/warrior princess from New Jersey with an unpretentious yet mesmerizing stage persona. I bow to her' -Dean Johnson, HX Mag. |
