Tuesday
January 30th and Wednesday January 31st: I will present "The Jonathan
Ames Show" at Mo Pitkins, 34 Avenue A (between 2nd and 3rd), at 11
pm. Cover charge is $15. You can go to www.ticketweb.com and search my
name to buy tickets online or you can come the night of and buy tickets,
but that's always a bit more risky. For more details about Mo's go to
www.mopitkins.com
Both nights I will present a variety of unusual acts. At the moment, Zero
Boy, the Alien Comic, and the Mangina are all slated to perform and there
will be others.
I will also interview, on stage, willing audience members about their
lives -- their frustrations, dilemmas, intrusive thoughts, erotic reveries,
and so on.
I will also offer to audience members, if they are interested, that they
can be gently paddled on stage, perhaps after confessing an indiscretion
that has been haunting them. Participants will, naturally, be draped across
my knee.
I will also offer to battle audience members in a pillow fight. Swimming
goggles will be provided, since an eye-injury is just about the only risk
in a pillow fight. I'll also provide pillows, though if you want to bring
your own that would be helpful. I am doing the pillow-fights since after
the previous shows, when I battled numerous people at arm-wrestling, I
injured the tendons in my right elbow.
Also, the Mangina will wrestle the Blind Woman, who beat him at the last
show. He's lost to her two times now and is really hoping to win this
match.
Hope you can make it.
