Invert is a New York City based string quartet performing original music by its members & its own arrangements of works by other composers. They have created their own brand of chamber music by blending new music with other genres, such as rock & jazz. Invert's compositions range from moody pieces evocative of expressionist cinema soundtracks to driving melodic works, oftentimes leaving open sections for improvisation. They have played with Mission of Burma & Guided By Voices & shared a tour of the US with Rachel's. The group's third CD is due for release in March 2007.
