Inner Monologues is a spoken word show in which a group of writers respond in personal ways to an assigned theme. Each writer then performs his or her story on stage to the delight of an audience and often, to his or her own embarassment. The theme of the show on May 9th at 8:30 is Strange Encounters. Audiences will hear stories about dating an older man with a motorcycle, meeting the back-woods parents of one's significant other, dressing up as Shelley Long, and sitting next to a porn star on an airplane, to name just a few. There will also be two musical guests: a dirty folk rock singer and an improv musical comedian.
