'Guyz
Nite's soaring guitars & delicious vocals return the listener to the
halcyon days when rock was just rock. We should all get on our knees &
thank God for Guyz Nite.' -David Browne, Entertainment Weekly
'I don't know what I'd do if I hadn't discovered Guyz Nite. Rock is in
such a horrible state right now, with indie tripe like the Yeah Yeah Yeahs
ruling the scene. These fellas bring rock back to the basics: catchy-as-all-Hell
tunes, macho swagger, & lyrics that don't take themselves too seriously.
It's the ultimate post-punk take on the cock-rock myth, & I absolutely
adore it. A+.' -Jolie Lash, Rolling Stone
'I'll be honest: I hate everything they stand for. But I'll be damned
if I can't get a single one of their songs out of my head.' -Melissa Maerz,
SPIN Magazine
' "Beer & Boobs" &"Your Mom" are not ironic,
because Guyz Nite doesn't feel the need to hide behind irony like most
of the other 'Indie' bands out there today. There's a truth & honesty
to each of their songs that makes them so hilarious. These Guyz love the
frat-boy-cum-arena-rocker personas they inhabit, & they aren't afraid
to embrace their sometimes boorish attitudes. In "Gil Got Gay,"
Manley explores the complexities of a relationship with a friend he's
just found to be gay after a drunken escapade at a local bar. He's accepting,
but also weary: "Gil got gay, buy hey, it's okay." Then later,
speaking to Gil directly: "I know you still respect me as a friend,
& don't picture what I'm looking like naked." Truly inspired.
And funny. A-.' -David Sprague, Variety Magazine
"These guys are not Christians. You can't even call this devotional
music! It's downright offensive. F.' -John J. Thompson, Christian
