The Ex Caminos are a nine-piece band that blends soul jazz & jazz funk from the 1960s & 1970s with soul music & R&B from the same period. The band focuses on original compositions while covering such artists as Lou Donaldson, Aretha Franklin, Jimmy Smith, The Isley Brothers, Lonnie Smith, Bill Withers, Jack McDuff, Stevie Wonder, & many others. Born in New York City in the summer of 1995 as an instrumental jazz funk & soul jazz band, The Ex Caminos have been a New York City institution for 11 years. In 2004, Inyang Bassey joined the group as a vocalist & songwriter.
The Ex Caminos are: Brett Forman (bandleader, guitar), John Wriggle (musical director, trombone), Inyang Bassey (vocalist), Rich Chapple (bass), Fred Fiedler (trumpet), Charles Lee (saxophones, flute), Michael Lengyel (bongos, congas, percussion), Seth Goldberg (drums), Pete Santilli (keyboards).
