THE ESKIMO

Born in the late spring of 2006, Connecticut’s The Eskimo perform an eclectic blend of all original Indie-Rock music, with influences varying from (but not limited to) Damien Rice, Coldplay, U2, Jimmy Eat World, and Radiohead. With a foundation built upon a D.I.Y. ethic The Eskimo have managed to execute an extensive New England summer tour, take 1st place in a regional battle of the bands, and receive airplay on several CT radio stations, including being featured on the WRKI-I95 FM Homegrown Show. Amidst all this The Eskimo have also found the time to produce and record a 5 song E.P. entitled Infant Literature, to be mixed, mastered, pressed, and released early 2007. The Eskimo; composed of Brett Shumate on Guitar, Piano, and Vox, Rob Suchecki on Guitar, Patrick Raimondi on Bass, and Bryce Shumate on Drums, perform live with a rare shade of honesty. These four deliver tight, energetic, and powerful arrangements with a prestigious enthusiasm marked only by their sincere love for music and the stage. Within only a few short months they have performed in a number of venues including The Space, The El-N-Gee, The Maxx Club, The Opus, The Monkey Bar, The Crossroads, The L Bar, and The Empress Ballroom. The Eskimo relocated to NYC in the fall of 2006 and are currently producing their first full-length album.
“Wow . . . That’s probably one of the more powerful songs we’ve ever played in the history of the show.” - Neil Hedley (WRKI – I95 FM morning show host, in regards to The Eskimo’s track Cancer)
