DIABLO DIMES
'HAMBONE' JENNIE GRAUER

'There is only one word to describe Diablo Dimes- timeless. He is Elvis, Howlin Wolf, & Tom Waits all rolled into one. With a smooth gravel voice & a cannon for a guitar, Dimes plans to leave his mark & change popular music with his compositions that blend the punk rock attitude with good time honky- tonk rhythm & blues. In 2005, Dimes released his much-anticipated EP, Gloria O'Muerte. It was produced by the legendary Chuck E Weiss & released by the independent Drunk Monk Records. He has graced the stages of juke joints & barrelhouses from coast to coast. Whether it's Slim's in San Francisco, The House of Blues in New Orleans (opening for The Jim Belushi Blues Band), CBGB'S in NYC, First Avenue in Minneapolis, or Viper Room in LA (opening for Chuck E Weiss), Dimes has left dust in his tracks. Most recently, he has been booked to play the largest tattoo show on the west coast, The 2006 Long Beach International Tattoo Convention. Most recently he blew the doors off of one of the most popular venues in San Diego, 4th & B. Coming to the US from his native Cuba when he was five years old, he first landed in Miami, & his nomadic soul has not stopped moving since. He has lived in New York, Los Angeles, San Diego, New Orleans, San Francisco, Savannah, Philadelphia, Minneapolis, & DC. The only place Dimes ever felt like home was in his music. After years of soul searching & countless metamorphoses, the smoke finally cleared, & what came out of that smoke was the kind of raw, sexy, primitive songwriter that the music industry has been waiting for. Dimes can make you feel like your living out a fantasy in which love is really possible. Then at the turn of a hat he can reach into that dark place in your soul & make you do a boogie woogie stomp that will have you sitting in a Prohibition era juke joint that lies in the Middle of a Mississippi swamp.

Pianist and singer/songwriter "Hambone" Jennie Grauer will make her solo debut on the Mo Pitkin's stage. Trained classically since she was eight, Hambone Jennie continued to hone her skills by taking up the blues and then taking to the streets of Europe with busking band The Crooners. Her dark and smoky vocal style has been influenced by female musicians such as Billie Holiday, Bessie Smith, Memphis Minnie and Nina Simone. By honoring the busking tradition and voices of the past, she now looks to elevate her songwriting talent towards a unique future.
