This band was created in 2002 out of a busking band that played in Washington Square Park with Bliss Blood singing & playing guitar. Bliss has worked with many musicians, incorporating mandolin, fiddle, steel guitar, tuba, drums, guitar, harmonica, piano, & bass. Currently joining Bliss (vocals & tenor guitar) are Mike Neer of The Moonlighters lap steel, dobro, six-string banjo, & accoustic guitar, Timothy Dick on piano, & Ernesto Gomez on harmonica. They play Delta blues & classic female vocal blues from the 1920s-40s era including songs by Bessie Smith, Charlie Patton, Robert Johnson, Ma Rainey, Bo Carter, Mississippi Sheiks, Memphis Minnie, Victoria Spivey,. Merline Johnson, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Papa Charlie Jackson, & Blind Blake. Enter the forgotten world of the Delta!
