CLINT MICHIGAN

Shifting gears from the campy irony laden pop of The Isotoners, CLINT MICHIGAN finds the band’s namesake and lead singer Clint Asay in a more lyrical and reflective mood. Rounding out the quartet is Amy Bezunartea(vocals, banjo), Pinky Weitzman(viola, stroh, vocals), and Mason Brown(accordian, mandolin, vocals). Clint Michigan has shared bills with the likes of Jennifer O Connor, Scott Matthew, Joel Gibb(The Hidden Cameras), Gentlemen Reg, and Bitch to name a few. They are currently working on their debut record which they hope to have completed by the fall of this year, out on Kiam Records.-“They’re as if The Carter Family with very special guest Andy Bell from Erasure opened for Iris DeMent at The Cock. Clint “Michigan” Asay’s voice is dove-bar sweet.” -DJ Satisfaction Pony
“Take last Monday for instance when we witnessed rock history at Starlight. Former Isotoner Clint Asay debuted his ingeniously named new band CLINT MICHIGAN before an adoring crowd of fans. CM is more earnest, with beautiful ballads about self-renewal and turning one’s life around” -HX Magazine

5/8 Kendall Meade, the winning songwriter who anchors the revolving lineup of Mascott, also made an early escape- in her songs, that is. Meade has a natural reserve that makes her talent at creating seductive pop all the more intriguing. In her opening set, which featured guest turns by her friends Dudley Klute on vocals & Judson Ehrbar on vocals & percussion, She often returned to the notion of ephemerality as a source of power. 'I really wanted you yesterday,' she whispered to an imaginary prospect, now rejected. Dougher used folk music's lyricism to build a tension she then shattered with a rock edge. Meade, staying prettier on the surface, found the restlessness at the heart of a woman's quietude. New York Times

5/22 Amy Bezunartea / Larry Krone

Artist/Entertainer Larry Krone is known as much for his understated style of sad song selling as for his overstated cornball stage shows complete with customized ukuleles and hand-stitched & studded western stage costumes. Krone has performed—solo or with his family act—at music and art venues in New York such as Starlight Bar & Lounge, Fez, Joe’s Pub, the Living Room, Tonic, The Whitney Museum, and PS 122. September 2006, Krone had his first major one-person museum exhibition at the Contemporary Art Museum of St. Louis. The exhibition—a survey of Krone’s visual and performance work from the past 10 years—will be accompanied by a large-scale live performance and a multimedia catalog complete with a full length CD of his music.
