CHRIS MOORE & SONS

'Sandwiched between two high-profile reunion performances with his teenage punk/hardcore band Negative Approach, including Touch & GO records 25 year anniversary concert & England’s All Tommorrows Parties Festival Chris Moore will release Us Fools his fifth cd, though a first, with his band, the Sons, Us is an exemplary show of shared commitment not only to a band as an entity (remember those rare treats?) but also to their musically eclectic reach. Aside from Moore on guitar, piano, & lead vox; Gary Langol, double bass, organ, piano; Adam Gold, drums, vibes, percussion; Dennis Cronin (performed with Yo La Tengo, Lambchop, Calexico, Vic Chestnut, & others), trumpet, accordion, melodica, percussion, & Tom Gavin on various guitars. Us is orchestral yet brawny folk-rock, fusing blues, jazz, pop, & Afro-Cuban themes. It’s beautiful & lyrical. Each song on Us is mystically linked by Moore’s poetic observations on spirituality, society, love, death, & the shrinking natural world. Chris Moore has acquired songwriting prizes from Metro Times/ Detroit Monthly, an Abe Olman scholarship, & a 2005 Musicians Atlas/Borders finalist placing & has opened for Tori Amos, Mark Eitzel, Alanis Morrisette, & others. Moore has also performed & collaborated with Golden Palomino master-mind, Anton Fier.
Moore and Sons will play the east coast until 2007, & next spring/summer, a national tour. Us Fools will get a European release Jan 2007 via the UK’s Triumphant Sounds label.
'Moore is now a multi-instrumentalist & a gifted ,subtle songwriter, keeping listeners pleasantly off-balance with tunes that take many unexpected melodic and lyrical turns' -Martin Bandyke, Detroit Free Press
