Stephanie Smith is a brilliant singer songwriter who just released her third album at age 22. Her freshman album "Tell Me" (released at age 17) landed her the "Pearl Award" for Best New Artist and the "AOL's Musician of the Week" award. She released her second album "Change" at age 19. Shortly after its release, she was performing in a coffee shop when a writer of an indie film remake of "Pride and Prejudice" heard Stephanie playing and fell in love with the music. The film's music director chose to include 4 of Stephanie's songs in the soundtrack. This third album "Waves" was released to a packed house at The Alpine Art Center in Alpine, Utah. This album is proving to be her most solid yet. She was honored to work with Producer/Arranger Giles Reaves who has worked with industry greats such as Patti Griffin, Chantal Kreviazuk, Nicole Nordeman. Her lyrics are razor-sharp with vocals that are pure and emotive as she demonstrates solid command of both the piano and guitar. She is a polished performer that has toured extensively throughout the United States. "Though she’s only in her early twenties, Stephanie Smith writes and sings with understanding and depth far beyond her years. On stage and off, she has an amazing ability to connect with her fans." says David Anderson, a Concert Promoter From Oregon. Stephanie's song "At Your Side" is being included on an album for the One Heart Bulgaria Foundation, benefitting the orphan children of Bulgaria. This is just one of many compilation albums featuring Smiths Music. Nokia has also recently featured her in a podcast that included industry up an comings Imogen Heap and Jonatha Brooks and will have her song available as a ring tone early this spring. She is already getting international attention. |
| With catchy melodies, unforgettable hooks and an earnest blend of heartache amid desire; singer-songwriter Andy Mac presents a unique spin on the typical melancholic male artist. Discovering how to mask his vulnerability through charming lyrics and harmony-coated pop-mellow tunes, Mac performs with sincerity and wisdom. Recently, Andy has had four network TV placements through 20th Century Fox, and has licensed his debut album, Music for a Bright Moon Sky, to MTV. |

Solitude is most often the birthplace of artistry. Such was the case for Utah-born singer/songwriter Debra Fotheringham. Her passion for songwriting began as a teenager in the quiet of late nights alone. Given as a Christmas gift at the age of thirteen, Debra's guitar quickly became the fulcrum for her creative energy. After failed attempts at learning the violin and the trumpet, the guitar was the perfect fit, because it uncovered and facilitated Debra's most expressive gift…her voice. Called clear, clean, and effortlessly melodic, Debra’s voice can be smooth and lyrical one moment, while rich and emotional the next. Debra uses her voice like an instrument, guiding listeners through the dynamics of the music...and the meaning. A writer as soon as she learned to write, Debra’s lyrics reflect her longtime fascination with the interplay of words. She uses them to create lyrics that reveal intelligence and heart, and explore the world beyond casual observation. Influenced by her jazz-musician father’s extensive music library, Debra’s music incorporates bits and pieces of the sounds she grew up with—the soulful singing of jazz vocalists like Ella Fitzgerald and Julie London, and the exotic percussive rhythms of Brazilian artists like Antonio Carlos Jobim and João Gilberto. Gifted with an innate sense of rhythm, Debra quickly found expression on hand drums such as the African djembe and the Middle-Eastern doumbek. These world beats transferred to her guitar work as well, helping her create songs with direct, provocative, and effortless sounding rhythms. A little bit jazz, a little bit folk, a little bit rock, a little bit pop, a little bit bluegrass—Debra’s music is hard to pin down. Its earthy physicality has a wonderful and tangible immediacy, but defies most common descriptors and genres. --Deann Kennedy |
