Maia Davies, Montreal native songstress, has an undeniable passion for music, as her knack for songwriting and performing prove. Where indie pop sheds prentention, songwriting is rooted in necessary traditions, and arrangements are simultaneously hooky and experimental, Davies' sound emerges, with a sultry voice to carry and deliver it with conviction. Part coffee-house folk, part alternative pop, and part seductive siren music for good measure, Davies' artistic mission is, by her own admission, a labor of love.

Combining “'wisdom, hard-hitting social commentary & beautiful poetry' -Tsunami Magazine, Emily Maguire is an English singer-songwriter whose strong, thought-provoking lyrics & 'the kind of vocals that will melt your stereo' -Scene Magazine have won her fans across the globe.
Originally trained as a cellist, she taught herself guitar from Bob Marley songbooks & when illness forced her to give up work, she started writing songs about life & the world outside her window. Years later, back on her on feet & fed up with grey skies & concrete, she gave up her flat in London for a shack in the Australian bush where she recorded & released her debut album Stranger Place to critical acclaim by the Australian media including Album of the Week on ABC Radio. Following a UK tour in May 2006, she returned to Australia to record a new album Keep Walking, which will be released on Shaktu Records in early 2007. Having opened for Gail Ann Dorsey, Elliott Murphy, The Beautiful Girls, & The Black Sorrows, Emily is heading to NY with her Aussie bass player & drummer for her US debut.
