CASEY MCPHERSON

The beating heart behind Alpha Rev is Texas artist Casey McPherson. Austin’s famous nightspot Antone’s once raved on their website, “witness Casey in action and you know God made this man to play music.” And as Soundcheck magazine aptly pointed out, live, McPherson plays the part of the stoic rock and roll stud,” and “is a supremely gifted songwriter.” An accomplished pianist who trained at age five, McPherson later started one of Austin’s favorite home grown bands, Endochine, and then later, Alpha Rev, a band aptly described as having the unique combination of “a real soul and simultaneously a radio friendly presence.” McPherson makes frequent radio and television appearances in his home state, and will begin touring with Alpha Rev after the release of their latest full length album, scheduled for an early spring release in 2008. Of Note, McPherson’s connection to his music and his fans runs deeper than most; he is a national spokesperson for suicide prevention, and the emotional connection he has with the cause and his fans is achingly reflected in his writing and music.
