CARRIE JEAN SOOTER

Starting her music career at the tender age of five, Carrie Jean Sooter gave her first public performance playing Twinkle, Twinkle, Lilttle Star on the violin. Twenty years & countless performances later, she is still on stage, this time with guitar & music she writes herself. Inspired by ex-boyfriends & working 9-5, Carrie's lyrics take a unique twist on the ordinary:'When you fall on your face/and you feel like such a disgrace/ Hold
your head to the sky/ and laugh out loud, I am alive.'
'Writing music and then singing it for people can be magical,' Carrie said. 'There's something in the air.'
There certainly is. It's a Muscle Shoals mixture of gritty blues, country, & folk with a voice that is pure & hits the notes effortlessly. Carrie Jean Sooter regularly performs at venues throughout New York & Tennessee, including Pete's Candy Store & the Bell Buckle Cafe. She resides in NYC.
