Banzai is a rock band (for lack of a better definition) from Brooklyn, New York. The current members are Jesse G. on vocals and guitar, Michael G. on guitar, Max C. on bass, and Jonathan E. on drums/vocals. The band has been around for 3 years. Banzai tied for first at a Battle of the Bands at the Knitting Factory with Blondes Pass Out. Our songwriting has evolved from the very basic Rage Against the Machine-influenced songs we used to write, to the varietal, eclectic songs we write now. We try to practice a lot and make new ideas, "expand our horizons". Most of Banzai's songs are built upon by everybody in the band once there is some sort of idea in place. This can often result in strange, but natural fusions of hardcore, metal, funk, reggae, salsa, hip hop, jazz, various world music, and lots more. We're really supportive of bands/artists we like (you know who you are..), and open to many styles of music, which means we usually dislike generic or unoriginal bands. We have just finished recording our first EP, entitled "Please Enjoy", which should be out soon.
