Aunt
Ange is a five-piece collective established to destroy the border between
the classical and the romantic thought. Through exposure of basic human
emotions the music carries a universal truth that can bring worlds together
and then tear them apart. The music portrays a wide spectrum of human
emotion. It celebrates the dark so one can truly appreciate the light.
Aunt Ange, based out of Long Island, has only recently cemented its members.
Originally surviving only in the heads of Patrick O’Brien and Jack
Kearney, Aunt Ange started creating music in 1996. They drew inspiration
and influence from the music of Nirvana, Pink Floyd, Danny Elfman, and
Neil Young to name a few. Their first album Fliptop Circus, which was
recorded in 2004, was solely written and performed by Patrick O’Brien
and Jack Kearney. In 2005, Pat and Jack teamed up with bassist Adam Kushner
to create Apathia, their second album. This album is due to be released
in the summer of 2006. With eight years of live performance under their
belt, Aunt Ange has currently started to perform again in the New York
City area at places like Piano’s, CB’s Gallery and the Baggot
Inn. With new members Paul Livanos (guitar and mandolin) and Brent Stranathan
(drums), Aunt Ange is as tight as they have ever been and new music is
always in the wor
