| Elana Arian was raised on equal parts Mozart, Mingus, and Mitchell – influences that guided her to study conducting and violin, jazz guitar, and songwriting in college. The New York City artist now blends the discipline of classical, the freedom of jazz, and the candor of folk music into her own unique style as a singer/songwriter. Elana has been touring the East Coast for the past three years, packing houses at legendary venues like Club Passim (Cambridge MA), the Tin Angel (Philadelphia PA), the Bitter End (NYC), and the Iron Horse (Northampton MA). She has opened for Catie Curtis, Erin McKeown, and David Wilcox, and she has just begun work on her second record, due to be released in the spring of 2007. |
