ACCORDIAN ROCK SHOW

Eclectic indie b-boy, Julz A, is an accordion alternative, singing and rapping while playing the squeeze box. The new EP release, Squeeze Rock, places his sound somewhere between Beck and the Beastie Boys.

Uncle Moon flat-out gets it with their eclectic 'genre diving.' They get maximum effect from guitar, accordion, violin, saxophone, & double bass. At one moment they're blasting everything from Thelonious Monk to The Butthole Surfers & then turn on a dime to caress beautiful melodies from songs by Django Reinhardt or The Velvet Underground. Their original songs are a combination of bold, sweet, brash, delicate, soulful, & sometimes f*ked up. They've been called: 'A carnival of sounds, from the carousel to the horror show,' 'Kurt Weill at the Grand 'Ol Opry,' & 'the closest that performance art music has come to moonshine.'
